Admission

How to Apply

Verbier International School approaches admission as a gradual acquaintance rather than a formal document check. Families begin by submitting an inquiry, then visit the campus, and only afterward proceed with an official application—a sequence designed to help both sides determine mutual fit. Visiting during term time proves most valuable, as it reveals daily rhythms: lessons in session, teachers at work, the resort humming with its usual energy. When in-person visits aren’t feasible, the school offers online meetings instead. Once families decide to apply, they’ll need seven elements: an application form, interview, motivational letter, recommendation, two years of transcripts, passport copy, and a non-refundable 2,000 CHF deposit (all prices current as of 2026).

Prices at Verbier International School

The school offers two payment formats—annual and winter seasonal—both available across all age groups, from preschoolers through graduates. Annual tuition starts at 31,000 CHF for younger children and reaches 47,000 for upper-year students, while winter season ranges from 20,500 to 33,000 respectively. Boarding, available only for grades seven through thirteen, requires separate payment beyond tuition. A shared room with private bathroom costs 57,000 CHF annually or 39,000 for winter season. Upon arrival, residents also pay a deposit: 6,000 CHF for annual stays, 3,000 for seasonal.

What’s Included in Tuition

Tuition covers more than Monday-to-Friday lessons. The fee includes all textbooks and materials, three meals plus morning and afternoon snacks, extracurricular activities, forest school sessions, basic medical care, excursions, and cultural events. One notable detail: ski lessons appear within the regular schedule—not an optional add-on but part of the standard day.

Several items remain outside the fee: school uniform, personal devices and specialized calculators, Swiss medical insurance, sports academies and external competitions, private music lessons, special needs support, lift passes and equipment rental, weekend trips, examination fees, additional group excursions.

What’s Included in Boarding

Boarding fees cover full accommodation and meals throughout the term, including weekends. This encompasses Saturday and Sunday excursions, laundry service, linens and towels, Swiss medical insurance, residence permit and visa processing, utilities, supervised evening study, sports and leisure activities, weekend mountain programs, and mandatory expeditions.

Not included: uniform, all holiday periods, airport transfers, personal hygiene products, lift passes and equipment rental, phone and postal services, trips outside Switzerland. One standout detail: the school handles all expenses and logistics for securing Swiss residence permits for boarding students—a rarity even among international boarding schools.
